Child Protection Studies Workshops

**Ministry of Education Putting a Child Protection Policy into Practice Workshops - CLICK HERE***

MOE have contracted Child Matters to run child protection policy workshops for education leaders and teachers.

These workshops will:

  • support you to implement your child protection policy as required by the Vulnerable Children Act 2014.
  • explain the importance of effective child protection policies, procedures, and safety checking for your school or kura.
  • support you and your staff to recognise vulnerability, know what to do if you suspect child abuse or neglect and understand how your child protection policy can support you.

Child Protection Studies Workshops are short targeted courses designed to provide introductory level information about specific child protection related subjects.

These workshops are sometimes scheduled for specific dates and locations.  However, more often, we work with organisations, groups and communities to bring workshops that are relevant and important to them, at a time and place that suits them.

Child Protection Studies Workshops form stage 1 of the Child Matters' training model.  Workshops are not NZQA accredited.
