Learn & Connect: Strengthening Child Protection Practice
This new series of online networking sessions has been designed specifically for Designated Persons/Child Protection Leads. These sessions provide a valuable opportunity to build your knowledge, strengthen your practice, and connect with others in similar roles across Aotearoa.
We recognise that this role can at times feel overwhelming, so Child Matters is here to support you in your role on an ongoing basis. These sessions provide a supportive virtual space to come together, learn, ask questions, share ideas, and connect with others who understand the responsibilities and challenges of the Designated Person role. Developing a network of other Designated People can be incredibly valuable. It creates opportunities to share experiences, bounce ideas off one another, and support each other in the shared responsibility of protecting children across your communities, schools, and organisations. Each Connect and Reflect session will:
Focus on a specific topic relevant to your role
Explore a scenario related to that topic
Provide space for discussion and for your questions to be answered
Each session will include:
Focused learning on a relevant child protection topic
Interactive case scenarios to apply your thinking in practice
Open Q&A and discussion with our facilitators
Designed to be both practical and supportive, Kōrero & Connect creates a space for shared learning, reflection, and professional connection - helping you feel more confident in your role and approach.
